Hi!
We wanted to share a list of our favorite reads with you since it is National Read a Book Day!

Ash's Top 5 Recommended Reading List (for a good time!

1. Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan - An amazing fiction novel about a possibly magical book store in San Francisco. I read it in 2 days! I seriously couldn't put it down.
2. My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix - This is really just a super cheesy 80's teen movie in book form. Easy and entertaining read. And no worries, it really isn't that scary!
3. The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials Trilogy) by Philip Pullman - If you like Harry Potter, then you should give this trilogy a try. It really is nothing like Harry Potter at all, except that it fiction/fantasy and its SO COOL! The whole series is an ongoing adventure through different worlds of all sorts. Its quite amazing.
4. Touch by Courtney Maum - Touch was Belletrist's June pick for the super cute book club run by Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss. (If you don't follow @Belletrist already, you should! They choose books each month and usually interview the authors!) This is a newly published book about a trend-forecasting woman who has essentially lost touch with the world and herself, but rediscovers the importance of human contact along the way. I loved it!
5. Modern Lovers by Emma Straub - I'd say this is a good vacation read. It has two love stories going on in two generations - parents and kids. Set in Brooklyn, this book tells the stories of two fictional families and their sort-of troubled relationships and marriages.
Ash is currently reading: How To Murder Your Life by Cat Marnell
Yay! You can pick up a book at Strand Book Store or McNally Jackson in the city (and check out our really cute greeting cards at either store while you're at it!)

love,
